The young adult group at West Shore Evangelical Free Church (SixTen) has been discussing why people have a hard time getting into the Old Testament, so they posted a blog about God Behaving Badly. Here’s the link: God Behaving Badly? which includes my challenge to keep reading the Old Testament (it will be worth it).
Do you have a hard time getting into the Old Testament? Why?
For me, the non-narrative portions of the OT are often hard (prophets, wisdom, poetry) because I don’t have a story line to follow, or I’m not sure what the context was for writing it.
Stephanie, Yeah and I think Biblical Poetry was one of the classes that I taught you while you were here. I feel similarly. I like the narrative bits best. Although, my appreciate for poetry continues to grow. Thanks.
