In a few days I will begin a period of time where I will do more teaching and traveling than I’ve ever done. If you are the praying-type, pray. If you are near any of the places where I’ll be teaching, stop by.
Thursday (11/10) I teach Genesis for 3 hours in the morning, then drive 3 hours to Baltimore where I’ll speak to the InterVarsity group at U of Maryland, Baltimore County. Shannon will teach in my evening class. I drive 3 hours back and get home probably after midnight.
Saturday I’m at a soccer tournament for my son Nathan. (At 8:00 pm, #6 Oregon vs. #3 Stanford.)
Sunday (11/13) I preach at Woodland Presbyterian Church in West Philly.
Thursday (11/17) I teach Genesis for 3 hours in the morning, then an OT overview course for 3 hours in the evening.
Friday and Saturday (11/18-19), Shannon and I will speak at a retreat for about 80 students from Biblical Seminary (where I work). Topic: God behaving badly in Jesus’ parables. Saturday evening, I fly to San Francisco.
Sunday (11/20) I preach 3 times at Dan Kimball’s Vintage church in Santa Cruz, CA (9, 11 am, 7 pm).
Monday-Tuesday (11/21-22), I’m at the Society of Biblical Literature annual meeting in San Francisco. Tuesday night, I’ll teach on my book for a group for the Palo Alto Vineyard, where my friend Alex Van Riesen is pastor.
Wednesday (11/23), I fly back to Philadelphia and get home probably after midnight on one of the worst travel days of the year. Happy Thanksgiving!
